Rock On! Bookmark

Look what we made! My daughter and I were playing with the You Rock stamp set and chalks, and came up with this. We used White Daisy and Hydrangea cardstock, Versamark ink, and chalks.

Clearly Not

Ha!

Have you ever gone into a store, found something you loved that was just a LITTLE bit too small, and bought it, rationalizing that this fabulous item would be JUST the motivation you needed to get that last 10 pounds off? Yes, me too.

Well, apparently my initial blog post falls into just that same category. I thought that if I had a public forum (i.e., the blog) watching to see if I succeeded, I would be more motivated not to quit.

The post below is, therefore, approximately as dusty as the size 4 jeans in the back of my armoire. But really, I'm going to get into them someday.

Really!

Can I write a 50,000-word novel in 30 days?

I've signed up for National Novel Writing Month--nanowrimo. I've committed to write a 50,000-word manuscript in 30 days. It seemed like a good idea, a do-able undertaking.

Now, at the end of day 3 (or the beginning of day 4, if you're going by the clock and not by my own sleep/waking cycles), I realize that what I've committed to is a much larger undertaking than I was prepared for. Oops. This is going to be a wicked-exhausting month.

But I'm learning valuable lessons about my writing and my life. More about that later.
